The nickel price has surged for weeks due to the short supply, which influenced the stainless steel and hybrid battery markets a lot.

According to TOHOP's warehouse manager, the hybrid battery market will be forced to increase its price to strive for quality as high-grade refined nickel is the important raw material for hybrid battery packs. It's predictable that in the following 2 - 3 months, the end-users will see the increasing cost of driving HEVs or replacing their hybrid battery packs.


There is also good news, it's said nickel producers are turning to other ways to get the nickel for HEVs from Indonesia where nickel is rich. What's more, as the global market is changeable, the price fluctuation would becomes easy and frequently, maybe the price plunge is coming!
