The module consists of 12 cylindrical units connected in series. The new Insight is equipped with a total of 84 units. The overall voltage of the battery pack is 100.8V, which is 57.2V lower than the Civic Hybrid. The unit is produced by Sanyo Electric, with a current capacity of 5.75Ah and a voltage of 1.2V. In addition, the Civic Hybrid is equipped with a unit produced by Panasonic, with a current capacity of 5.5Ah.

(1) Large capacity
The "energy storage density" of Insight ni-mh batteries, taking AA-size rechargeable batteries as an example, is at least 1000mAh or more, preferably up to 1400mAh. Under the same volume and weight, its capacity is 2 times ~3 times that of nickel-cadmium batteries, and more than 1 times more than traditional nickel-cadmium batteries.
(2) No "memory effect"
The "memory effect" refers to the fact that the Insight hybrid battery is charged without being fully discharged during use, resulting in abnormal oxides on the negative plate of the battery. It has an inhibitory effect on the Insight hybrid battery voltage, which means that the battery is fully charged but discharged. When the voltage drops sharply, the battery life is shortened. Insight ni-mh batteries have no "memory effect", but they self-discharge during use. Under normal use, the amount of power loss is 1% to 3% per day. A fully charged Ni-MH battery must be recharged after being used for a few weeks. Since the Ni-MH battery has no "memory effect", it does not need to be discharged before starting to charge it, and it can be charged at any point when it is used.
